Baby: Mom’s voice is important for language learning
A Canadian study found that the voice of mothers has a positive effect on learning the language of their newborn. It acts on the brain areas and this stimulates the linguistic faculty of the baby. For cons, the voice of a stranger plays a special role in the activation of the brain responsible for speech recognition.
To support their research, scientists at the University of Montreal and Research Center of CHU Sainte-Justine have carried out electrical recordings 24 hours after the birth of 16 babies. Read the rest of this entry »
