Quitting smoking is not easy for many people, but there are cases where you have no choice, like you have a disease or are pregnant. Many women find it very hard to quit, and although many do during pregnancy, they give birth return to snuff without realizing it is harmful to the baby if you’re going to breastfeed.
Many studies have shown repeatedly that smoking while breastfeeding greatly influences feeding and sleeping babies. In fact, it was confirmed that women who smoke breastfeed for less time than non-smokers, despite the recommendation of pediatricians to ensure that breastfeeding is for at least 6 months.
Smoking more than ten cigarettes a day greatly affects the whole process of breastfeeding, mainly because milk production decreases and its composition is altered, losing nutrients and having a less pleasant taste. Read the rest of this entry »
