According to Dr. George Aswed, “music is a wonderful tool that helps to promote the time parents spend with their children as they read a book, play, sing magical part of the everyday moments of life that build the relationship affectionate with children”.
We do not need to own a prodigious voice to sing to our children. Babies naturally love the facial expressions of their parents, the inflection of his voice and the rhythmic repetition of words. These elements help to soothe, stimulate and entertain, facilitating the bond with your baby. Read the rest of this entry »

Babies and language development
Between 6-12 months of age babies begin to replace the language by a constant babble and utter monosyllables like ba ba, ta ta, or da da, and as time passes between the 10-18 months will start to deduct words like mom, dad, and then between the two and the three little sentences begin assembly of two or more words.
How to develop baby language:
Remember that not all children have the same time, and that each a small listener does interchangeably, if well and understand what is said will soon much utter their first words, you have to have patience and stimulate it, but without too many worries because there is no reason to do so.
It is essential that you talk while you wear, and you go telling we are doing. We are putting the diaper; we’ll put the trousers etc. When bathing, and when fed, is an excellent time to teach body parts, to name the toys and all child objects that appeal to you. Read the rest of this entry »
The Importance of Praise in Teaching
Research has proven that those who are praised more as children go on to become more successful adults. We all like to be told we’re doing a good job, but likewise we all need to learn to take constructive criticism on board in order to improve our performance. Praise is vital in teaching to encourage students to learn and move towards their goals. There have been numerous studies done over the last century exploring the phenomenon of learning by positive reinforcement. Most of the studies involved animals, but are still very applicable to children. The overwhelming findings from these studies was that if a behaviour was rewarded and another one wasn’t, the chances of the rewarded behaviour cropping up the next time around over the non-rewarded behaviour was much higher.
Negative attitudes
Teachers who impose a negative attitude upon their pupils are causing untold damage. A person who feels they are not achieving anything of value, no matter how hard they try, will eventually give up. Imagine that every time you completed a work project you were told you were useless and that the work was inferior? Eventually you would start to feel resentful and frustrated. Unfortunately, many teachers seem to think that this is a way to encourage children to work harder and achieve more. Actually, the opposite is true. By providing children with positive praise and encouragement (when deserved!) they will feel like they are making real progress, and strive to achieve more praise in the future.
Pre-school learning
Prior to attending school, praise at home and at nursery is vital for a child to develop. Whilst your child is at nursery, they’re learning a whole host of skills. They might not be learning academically, but they are learning social skills such as how to share toys, communication skills and how to relate to others. These are some of their first experiences in the world of education, and how nursery staff relate to the children is of utmost importance! Skills such as learning to tie shoelaces and get themselves dressed should be met with praise and gentle encouragement. This will ensure that children grow up to be confident and sure of themselves by the time they are ready to leave nursery and attend school.
Home tuition
For under-confident children, or those who aren’t being praised as often as you would like at school, home tuition can be the key. Having one-on-one contact with a tutor who will devote their time and attention to your child is a great way to make them feel important and like they are achieving what is expected of them. This boost to their confidence will help them in all areas of their life and ensure that they feel happier and more successful at school. Try an online tuition website to make sure that you find the perfect tutor for your child’s needs.
Praise is absolutely vital to ensure our children grow up to be happy, healthy, confident adults who have faith in their own abilities and know they can achieve their dreams.
Why should we reward children?
The prizes or rewards that we give to small children are demonstrations of affection, and a way to make them feel valued. The award must be in response to an exemplary action.
When we speak of reward or give a prize to the little kids for their achievements, we do not mean it has to be a material gift. The reward can be a compliment, i.e. make the child feel special, spend a whole afternoon playing your favorite game or prepare this dessert is so fond. The samples are highly variable and depend on the tastes and character of children.
Many parents forget this in the education of their children and never praise them for their good academic results or for having done rather a chore. But praise and reward our children are very positive to build self-esteem, make them feel them well and motivated to continue on the same path. Read the rest of this entry »
