The first-time parents always worry about feeding their little babies, which are well fed and receive everything they need for good growth. With that in mind we bring you here a little guide on what to give your child from twelve and eighteen months.
When the babies are at this age you can show that they are ready to eat alone when the spoon can hold in their hands, although the entire process can take a long time. In this age should be fed whole milk and other dairy products such as soft pasteurized cheese, yogurt and cottage cheese whole.
In this age should also be fed with the whole family to eat, only in small pieces, as well as iron-rich grains such as rice, wheat, oats, barley and mixed grains, other grains such as bread, cereal complete and pasta; new fruits such as melons, papayas, peaches and grapefruit new vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower, protein such as eggs, meat, poultry, boneless fish, tofu, beans and peanut butter spread thinly, citrus juices and citrus fruits and that age is ok to eat honey.
The day is good to eat between two to three servings of dairy products that may be half a cup of milk, one ounce of cheese, half cup of yogurt or cottage cheese, four to six servings of grains and other grains, between a quarter and half cup of fruit and vegetables as well, two servings of protein and three to four ounces of juice.
In children of this age are advised to introduce new foods one at a time, with at least three days of each other so that you make sure your child is not allergic, and make sure the pieces of food really hard to be small to avoid the risk of choking.
