Baby has a birthmark!

A baby is born, you learn a little mark, a stain pink or brown, you confirm that it is a birthmark and a lot of things run through your mind: Is this life? Is this dangerous?

Just after birth or a few weeks later, a spot appears on the baby’s skin, pink or purplish brown. These spots scientifically called “mole”, “Angioma” or more commonly: kiss of the angel, the crest of the front clip stork, coffee or wine stains may fade over time to disappear.

They are due to vascular or pigmentary abnormalities, but in the past, they were interpreted as the result of the emotions of the mother during pregnancy. Read the rest of this entry »
