The delay in development is the term that doctors and experts use when a child does not develop at a pace as considered normal. Many mothers worry about this constantly, because they know in general what are the ages at which children must start doing thing like using a spoon, walk, climb and talk amongst others.

In many cases, the children reach developmental milestones such items at their own pace and at about the same time, and if they do, most do it soon.
