What is tokophobia?
The tokophobia means fear of childbirth. Although this phenomenon is not widespread among members of the fairer sex, it is however difficult to deny that many women have this fear of childbirth. Various reasons are behind it, there is the fear of not being able to bear pain, depression, and even previous obstetric trauma, or sexual. The worst is the fear of death.
During the nineteenth and twentieth century until the panic of confinement was due to the high rate of mortality during childbirth, and the bad stories were passed down from generation to generation.
