Now that we are in summer, is more frequent the appearance of nits and lice in school-age kids. The louse clings to hair and feeds on blood from the scalp, thus causing a health problem.
Measures to prevent the spread of lice
- • Wash hair frequently
- • Combed and brushed daily
- • Frequently inspect the head of the small
- • Clean combs, brushes and towels.
- • Do not share personal hygiene.
If you realize that your child has lice, you wet the hair and apply a lotion to the scalp suppressors, you can buy in pharmacies; remember to be careful with the product as the indiscriminate use in kids is not recommended.
Then wash with one part vinegar to two parts water, so the nits are removed. Then use a special comb with closely spaced tines. All persons in the household should be checked to see if it should do the same treatment.
Also to wash bedding, nightwear and pajamas and all the clothes of an infected person in order to remove any eggs or nits and eventually a louse.
It is also good for teachers to review from time to time to the kids, they have a little time during class, so also can warn the mom, not to generate a contagion in the classroom.
